Florence & Val d'Orcia

Day 1:
Transfer from Fiumicino Airport to Marriot
Grand Hotel Flora, Via Veneto Rome or similar. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Meet at Grand Hotel Flora 10:30 and transfer
to Florence. On the way stop in Orvieto for visit and lunch at Trattoria Etrusca.
Orvieto is a medieval town sitting on the top of a volcanic rock. The famous cathedral
is one of the most impressive example of Italian gothic architecture. It took
three hundred years to complete her construction, during which a great number
of mosaic workers, sculptors and painters gave their contribution to realize this
masterpiece of art. Head Florence, check-in hotel
and visit Piazzale Michelangelo. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner at your
favorite restaurant or Trattoria Camillo.
Day
3: Meet at hotel 09:30 for half day guided tour of Florence, Accademy of
Fine Arts (David) or Uffizi Gallery. Lunch at your favorite Restaurant or Trattoria
Il Latini. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner at your favorite restaurant or Garga.
Day 4: Meet at hotel 09:30 and transfer to Val d’Orcia.
Located south of Siena is one of the most beautiful Tuscan country side. The breathless
landscape is surrounded by gentle hills, farm houses, vineyards, olive trees and
by bright colored spots: gold wheat fields with poppers spread around, yellow
sunflower cultivations, green cypress’s lines. Some of the most famous red
wines, Brunello and Nobile di Montepulciano, are produced in this area as well
as pecorino cheese from Pienza and Pici, a typical yummy hand made pasta.
Visit, wine taste and vip lunch at Castelgiocondo,
Marchesi de’Frescobaldi winery in Montalcino. Visit Montalcino and Sant’Antimo
Abbey. Head Sinalunga and check-in Locanda
dell’Amorosa. Dinner at Locanda.
Day
5: Meet at Locanda dell’Amorosa 10:00 and reach scheduled farm house
for cooking class. Lunch on what has been cooked during the lesson. Visit &
shopping in Pienza and surroundings. Dinner at Locanda.
Day 6: Meet at Locanda dell’Amorosa at 10:00
and transfer to Civitavecchia for embarkation. On the way stop in Tarquinia for
visit and lunch. Tarquinia is one of the oldest and important Etruscan town renowned
for her necropolis, Vitelleschi Palace and striking panorama overlooking the sea.
