Rome & Vatican City (9 hours) Round Trip 130 miles

After meeting at the dock we will reach Rome (90 minutes drive) through the old Aurelia Way. First stop will be at Piazza Venezia with the imposing monument dedicated to the Unknown Warrior and nicknamed by the locals the typewriter, due to its shape. We will then start to explore the Ancient Rome of the Emperors visiting the Colosseum and walking through the Holy Way and the Roman Forum.Again on board we will take a panoramic drive by the Circus Maximus, the Palatine Hill, the Baths of Caracalla and will have a 30 min guided visit of the Catacombs on the Ancient Appian Way. Then we will be back again in the heart of Eternal City visiting the Pantheon (27 B.C.) the best conserved monument where, between the others, the famous painter Raffaello is buried. The tour will continue through the most important Baroque and Renaissance sites: from Piazza Navona to Piazza Farnese, enjoying the pleasure to walk through narrow street and alleys surrounded by history and art. We will see the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo, before reaching the Vatican City where we will visit S.Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.
